Pick Up and Live

I've been trying to start this new blog, but I haven't been able to write the first post.  I have the color scheme all worked out, and the fonts fit the style I'm going for.  I want to create a blog that captures a small glance into the life of a Christian guy trying to live life the way God wants him to above all, without deference to what everyone else thinks.  The fact of the matter is that every time I sit and try to write the perfect defining article, I realize how far my life is from the definition I want to write.  I would so very much like to write a beautiful story of how I read my bible three times a day; treat my parents, treat girls with perfect care and respect; have all A's in college; and always wait to hold the door for little old ladies. I can't.  I'm not going to try.

Welcome to my life.  You know nothing about me except that I occasionally shut the door in little old ladies faces.  You have 21 years of life to catch up on.  Don't try.  You found my story in media res, and all you can know is what is revealed to you.  Much like the way we are put into life, into history without knowing why we're here unless we're told.  You're lucky, you know that? Dash it all, what am I saying?  There's no luck about it.  God told us why we're living.  He hand crafted you and me and set our stories a whirling.  He has a plan for my life; I just want to follow it.

So pick up and live. Whether it's buried in a pile of laundry, on the top shelf, or in your hands right now, pick it up, read, and live. Love the main character. Love like the main character. Be transformed by the story and may you never think the same way ever again.
